I'm sat here spinning 'Steepin Forward in Dub' (on Abrahams) and I get the strange feeling I am listening to another LP in my collection.

I might be worng but are the tracks on this the same as on another different dub LP? Maybe a Mittoo LP?

Can anyone comment? Or shall I sit here and play my way through all my dub trying to figure this out!

Ites leggo,
have you noticed that the Abraham release has three tracks added to the original record ?
Tracks 'Joyful dub', 'Line Dub' and 'Wicked Dubber' do not appear on the original album on Forward label from 1978.
Even more, Abrahams messed up the whole record by shaking up the original tracklisting.
Greetings

Greetings Bellyman.

No, I hadn't noticed that! The original must be a very short LP then! But I did notice that all reference to Clive Hunt has been removed from the credits. Strange!

Sadly, the bass sounds a bit thin on this Abraham pressing though.

What is the history of the Abraham label?

"Abraham" is a rip-off artist and bootlegger (from Canada, IIRC). PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE any of his CDs ever, for any reason.

I rarely buy CDs, just vinyl. But to be honest, I avoid Abraham stuff now. I bought a few before I got wise. Then I realised the quality was not too hot, now I always try to only buy original pressings if I can afford it.

But reggae is a minefield of rip offs and people not getting paid for their music.

I eventually bought this very album from leggorocker last year , unbeknowingly , off e-bay .

His hi-fi must have been at an early stage of building , as the bass sounds superb on my system . ( In fact I would go so far as to say it could be used as a demonstrator for reggae bass ! ) Yes , there is discontinuity in the tracklisting AND a couple of additional digital tracks from a later date ( I have an original copy of the LP as a CDR rip ) but it is good . .... and there is just one vocal snippet.
