I recently purchased the Blood and Fire release of this album on CD and it is fine music indeed.

However, I notice that there is another version of the album with a different cover floating around.

Can anyone tell me what difference there is (if any) between the two versions?

the blood and fire compilation does have some extra bonus tracks.

Another interesting difference is that the very first Black Art release (1977) has a different sound than all later pressings (incl the one from B&F). Perry added extra sounds and remixed it... (don't know why.. )maybe he wasn't happy with the result ?

I'm not sure how good the search function is on the forum but there are a few previous threads (within the past few months) that cover this issue in detail.

Not counting represses, the album has been issued at least seven times now. But as bonga suggests, the B&F CD you have is the most comprehensive. And it comes from the same basic mix as all the LPs except for the very first JA Black Art mix - the only one I sadly neither own nor have heard!
