Can you recommend some great 60s ska compilations/albums?

I'm just looking for some great ska classics, rare or well-known, from the 60s. You know, the type of stuff mods and skinheads would have danced to. "Double Barrel", "Monkey Man", type of stuff...
Cheers

Way too many to list here
but I can recommend the SOUL JAZZ and TROJAN labels for great compilations.
Soul Jazz, Studio One Ska SJRCD85 is great.
Trojan's 3 disc Box Sets are good value.
METRO label also has a good one called STREET CORNER METRCD081.
and there is a 12 volume selection called ROCK A SHACKA available ...check the ROCK A SHACKA website.
I love one called ONE ORIGINAL STEP BEYOND CTVCD115 (Castle Communications from 1993)
because it has the original versions of the many songs covered by 2 TONE bands like the Specials and Madness.
My favourite is Prince Buster's ENJOY YOURSELF.
Happy hunting

Hi Samo, I think that you might be looking for skinhead reggae...
If you want ska I think the best is The Skatalites double cd on Heartbeat 'Ska Foundation'. The Trojan Ska Rarities box set is also a must. There is also an 8 cds collection called 'Ska Down Jamaican way' with Justin Yap productions of the Skatalites with some vocal tunes also. I think they are great but very short, about 35 min. per cd.
Also most of the compilations of the great artists that were there since the beggining (Ken Boothe, Alton Ellis, Derrick Morgan, Bob Marley, The Techniques, Owen Gray, Stranger Cole, Lee Perry.......) include ska songs.
