Is anyone familiar with the rockers in the morning
show by Mikey dread broadcasted in Holland on the VPRO.I am looking for a song which sounds very young or is a girls voice on a riddim which sounds very mid eighties with syndrums.Probably with sly and robbie.Looking and trying to find this tune for donkey years so I thought i am going to give it a try here.

The lyrics started with
"What kind a people come settle down, come settle down.Weeping wailing and mouning gnashing of teeth 2x.
all the time you run up and down.they wanna run me down.
the sound quality was not that great copy of a old tape.Must be in 1985/1986 and is in between a song by horace andy- elementary and micheal prophet - cease fire.
He announced every song except this one.any help is appreciated.

Indeed a great show (you awlays got in a good mood, nice way to start your day). I have heard a few of them, but I believe it was always around 5 or 6 in the morning. A bit too early for me... Any idea whether VPRO is still broadcasting interesting stuff these days?

The tune you ask for is indeed a female vocal (her name slips my mind right at the moment)but I used to have this tune on a seven inch on the Topline record label from 1985. I remember it had a digital sound to it.
