I saw a post similar to this on another website i was wondering if people have had bad experience with online vinyl sellers and maybe they could write up what happened to warn others as to not deal with them.
Any sellers that you've had bad experience with? (including ebay sellers)

I have had a bad experience with a French ebay seller 'onlyroots'.
He's selling a lot of reissue material, but not stating this in his item descriptions. He also used a photo of an original issue (sleeve colour), but the actual sleeve had a different colour. He then refused to send me my money back.
He told me that it was my fault since the price of this object indicated it was a reissue rather than an original pressing. I found this very disturbing and i saw earlier this week he's still not honest in his descriptions. So beware !!

ONLYROOTS was a money + time waste for me. I won a 7" auction on ebay and paid promptly. I never saw the record. Not one of my questions was answered. Money back?? No way, no chance!
Sent me newsletters of his ebay-shop.
Another question you members could probably answer...I experieced mostly with French sellers, that they were unable to write my address correctly. They left out zip code, or even my street or house number. Any ideas, why??
If german dhl wouldn´t work that intelligently, I probably would have lost many more vinyl, coming from France.
Actually, I´m still waiting 2 weeks for my Travel with love album...guess...from France. No answers to my requests, nothing,...maybe I won to cheeply with Euros 9.99..?..
Raas claat thing....

Whenever i experience problems on eBay it's always with French guys......I buy and sell records from the US to Japan and from Iceland to Argentina......until now no problems with others besides the French.....
PLEASE READ THIS BELOW !! :
What if a buyer doesn't choose for insured/signed for mail options, coz he wants to save a few bucks...then the record arrived broken and he wants to get his money back from me (i stated in my item descriptions that i'm not responsible for damage, theft or faulty delivery and therefore i offer insured mail options). This guy sent me some emails in which he said that he received the record but it was broken.....(so i have a written declaration)..
He then opened a claim on eBay, stating he didn't received anything!! I forwared the emails to the appael department and the matter's still under investigation by eBay.
The seller is called 'rasyak' by the way....BEWARE !!
(Of course there are also a lot of good French buyers; many of them also bought vinyl from me without problems)

A bit off topic, but I wanted to mention that shipping from Jamaica takes the *longest*! I'm talking 2 months + from JA to CA; Must be the laid-back postal service
So anyone ordering from JA thinking they've been ripped off, or vinyl's been lost in the mail, just keep on waiting...

Ah yeah, thinking of buying from Telegift, always has a good selection on ebay but apparently it takes forever to recieve the items from the man.
Im on the edge of my seat at mentioning an issue i have had with a member of RA and buying vinyl from them but im still hoping he'll reply to my numerous messages about the issue of the vinyl not turning up.. (so i wont mention the name.) Fingers crossed as this guys always come through for me before.
Ive been very lucky in the past and although many things have gone missing for me in the post, records seem to turn up.
Except however a seller called "hardtofindrecords" who took so long for the items to recieve (i couldnt find the item anywhere else) the first time it took 3 months to show and the second i waited a few months and when i realised it wasnt going to appear he then claimed it never existed!.

In 10 years ebay there was 1 LP that doesnt arrived.
That was a seller from the UK. The value was about 15€, ok that can happen. (pineheadrec)
I had some problems with 1-2 jamaican sellers. Important for a buyer is to know, what you see is what you get. for example: there appear no sleeve at item description then you dont receive one. further there is no trust in grading the records. in that way jamaican seller are horrible, had bad experiences with telegift, too. but on another purchase from telgift everything went good.
another seller from the UK i had also some problem´s with correct grading...skabado. the record i bought was obviously a distaster...no way to talk with him. i had to leave a negative feedback, he did the same for me(td)

On eBay, I find the grading of records is really hit and miss. I bought from "mr.sloane" a JA 7" which was graded as Ex-. When I received it, it was badly scratched (I would have graded it G-). The stylus skipped when I played it. When I complained I was told it's a JA pressing - what did you expect? On the plus side seller "rtr5446" sent me the wrong record, but when I contacted him/her I was told to keep it and the correct record was delivered the following day.

in 7 years of selling records only 1 package went lost and 2 broke records, not all french sellers are bad:)
but post office is truly bad...those lazy bastards with no organisation...even when you got tracking sometimes they just don't know where it is?? hopefully it always shows up sooner or later anyway we can't deliver ourselves the packages:)))
