hmmmm, pretty sure that song was done by Neil Diamond (original acoustic rock), Tony Tribe (reggae/rocksteady), and UB40 (reggae). Hope you didn't mistake Astro's toasting as Mr. Marley!
I remember jokin with a friend, we should go to Jamaica and yell out at a show "play 'Don't worry, be happy' by Bob Marley!" and see how long it takes to get our asses kicked.

and I thought the original was sung by Perry Como...how wrong I was! I can sleep easy now that that is cleared up.
Joking aside, it's a pretty weak song in my opinion no matter who sings it. Though many reggae covers of insignificant US and UK pop hits have transformed them into something special.
As to anything concerning UB40 - I thought Food for Thought (first single) was great when I was a kid but everything they did after that was pure c@%p! But they have been hugely successful and they don't really care what I think, even if they knew...which they don't!
