Hi,
last weekend and the weekend before i had the opportunity and the luck to go to two reggae festivals in Belgium. I do not know how about the rest of the world, but for Belgium it was the first time they installed [Funktion one](http://www.funktion-one.com/home.htm) sound, which is just wonderful!! Really amazing sound quality, almost not filtered at all. The voice, the bass, everything loud and clear.
Especially [this](http://www.funktion-one.com/DoubleInfrahorn.htm) double infrahorn was just to good to be true. I guess you can imagine hearing 12dB at 33Hz blows you away. Hearing Aba Shanti I, Irations Steppers through such a sound, in the middle of a pine tree forest was like i was in heaven. Climax was Mad Professor; he really explored the limits of that sound and reinvented dub for us!

Really this Funktion One is superb, that sound quality, not only hearing, but feeling the vibes...
I already look forward to attend another roots session on that sound!

I was really disappointed by this thing as I had hoped that either Aba or Iration would bring their sound.
I don't like this standard PA business. I want to hear the individuality of a true roots soundsystem.
The warm-up sound on Friday couldn't handle the thing and it sounded terrible. For the rest of the sessions it was O.K. Can't complain about loudness or bass pressure. Also in my opinion Mad Professor got the best results with that P.A. Next was Aba and then Iration.
All in all I was not impressed at all with that system. To me it sounded sterile. Keep that thing for drum & bass or whatever.
I certainly do not want to hear another roots session on it.
