Jah Iney - El Rockers

I'm listening to the radio promo sampler that Shanachie sent me, so I don't have the liner notes. Anyway, Augustus Pablo - The Rockers Story set, what is this Jah Iney track, "El Rockers"? I am unable to find anything about the deejay or the track elsewhere. Maybe a typo, or is there really a Jah Iney?

From the sleeve notes of the Pressure sounds release "Augustus Pablo in fine style"
"......it's an extreme and experimental dub taken from the original 1974 rockers seven inch release where Pablo has subtly altered the "real rock" bass line, added the melody of Jackie Mittoos' "hot milk",overdubbed tape rewinds and then switched the echo tape speed from fast to slow all adding up to one of the most bizarre versions ever created."

This one with Hugh Mundell, on Real Rock is Zambian Style. Maybe some errors in title?

Hmmm, I'm a little confused by the responses. As I posted, I'm asking about a track noted as Jah Iney - "El Rockers." I'd never heard of the deejay before, and he never says "El Rockers" in the track. Was just wondering if it might have been mislabed or something.

There is no **Jah Iney**!

'El Rockers' has been released on both 7", 12" & LP/CD crediting **Jah Iny** as artist.

If you are still confused about this track then the fact that 'El Rockers' has also rightly or wrongly been listed in the link below *(see Rockers 7" section)* as being by **Jah** T will probably not help.

Either way, there is no doubt it's an exceptional track.

Ok thank you for spelling it out for me. So Shanachie mis-labeled the artist name but Jah Iny in fact might not even be the artist. Also, the track name doesn't seem to have much to do with the lyrical content.

It has also been suggested that Jah Iny could be Jah Levi aka Hugh Mundell or even Augustus Pablo himself.

The facts concerning who's who are not as important or as easy to confirm as the quality of this superb piece of Rockers produced music is.

Pablo says that Jah Iny and Jah T are the same man.
