Scientist Dub 911 (anyone know this?)

Anyone heard this?
The cover is hilarious (or should I say Lauraious?) and obviously wrong in terms of the facts.
Saddam had nothing to do with it etc.
Is Scientist as clueless as that? Certainly hope not. The CA air may have killed a few cells...

just listened to the clips on Amazon.com
Actually way better than I expected for modern dub. Anyone know how this was put together? Players, singers etc.?

With no disrespect intended to the musicians or engineer, I personally found it extremely disappointing.. yeah i know times have changed, but compared to what Scientist could do in 1980 (thanks to a combination of Tubby's Studio & Scientist's creativity).. Musically I don't think it was so good either.. some 'good' tunes but not the kind where your jaw drops within the first bars .. I had read it was Soul Syndicate playing...oh well...
Even though I wish reggae still sounded the same it did before 1983 (studios, equipment, real musicians, creativity), I do accept advances in technology and understand things & times change. when technology changes though you should take advantage of it, do more, be creative, stay ahead...

Soul Syndicate with a Scientist mix 30 years ago is one example of musical perfection for my ears.. serious.. hair standing up, wobbly knees, happiness.. that's what a lot of (old) JA music does to me - something so nice I really wonder whether other people feel what i feel to the same extent. this release did none of those things for me unfortunately.. I felt this was much more 'backward' than what it would have sounded like 30 years ago.

the cover and funny song titles are about all that's worth mentioning about this record.

i don't think he necessarily thinks saddam and 911 have anything to do with each other... i think he's making fun of the GOP and the sequence of events leading up to iraq.

Even though its not that Scientist we are used to, its def better than Scientist dubs Culture (RAS Records)...
From seeing Scientist engineer in the flesh, he def isn't using reel to reel or any analog sounds..He is mixing off of a huge 24 channel with in-board effects and such...
And I doubt he even saw the cover before it was put out..Most cover art before and now, doesn't consult with the artist..Thats just a fact..
If you want to listen to a recent Scientist album that he engineered and dubbed check: KUSH & BLOODFIYAH ANGELS "Countdown to the Holy Judgement"..Real thick n juicy..www.fiyahangels.com

I tend to agree with Leggo but I try to keep an open mind (as I know he does too ;)) - and the cover of this one caught my eye. I was suprised that it sounded a bit more like old-school than I expected, but I won't be running out and buying it or doing so by clicking a mouse button either.

So much of what was great back then was really down to Tubby's studio set up. And of course the quality of the tracks brought there to mix and the vocalists that voiced there. Truly a magical sound. Nothing compares.

I've seen the Greensleeves Scientist albums referred to as 'chewing gum dub' at least once somewhere on this forum. i hope the term doesn't stick because it is just plain wrong!
