Mono Super Ape?

I've just found a copy of Lee Perry & The Upsetters' Super Ape LP that appears to be a mono recording. It's on Island, but is apparently a Japanese test pressing. All of the other Island/Simply Vinyl pressings seem to be in stereo, though, so I'm wondering if anyone owns or has heard a mono version, and whether it's the exact same music as the stereo version? Thanks in advance for any correction -- I've probably just missed something really obvious here...
