Good LP, mostly dub and instrumental. Good horn section, melodica, and solid rythms. Only problem is the synthetiser on some songs (you know, that kind of awful false violins)

ps : as far as I know, the record date is 1977 and not 1979 as mentionned in the archives

This is an excellent album on same label

Even better than the Earth Roots and Water, only problem is last couple of tracks are digital and dont really fit in with the other tracks.

Definately worth investigating though.

ER&W, Anthology, Noel Ellis - all wicked albums, I can't stop playing them.

HAILE!!!
One of the best things about this LP is that Johnny Osbourne is playing melodica on certain tracks..
Kind of like a Canadian Wackies...

Summer records Anthology is a wicked album plus u get the DVD documentary about the making of Summer Sounds and get to see Willie Williamsn and Jackie Mittoo in studio.
Checkout Noel Ellis's album on same label, i was fortunate enough to meet noel earlier this year and the producer of all these albums mentioned.

I bought "Innocent Youths" a while back as I had read so many good reports about it, but have to admit it just doesn't do it for me. :(

I think the Noel Ellis album is interesting , but honestly I was not fully conquered when I heard it, that's why I didn't buy it. If I remember well, there were a few synthe sounds and quite usual riddims

not all tracks are killas, but for me the first track on the album is worth the money alone....
