Ive starten to discover the post-Ja music of Stranjah Cole not so long ago... and am amazed! And he seem to have recorded a lot of stuff in NY (for Wackies) and in Canada. I had "freedom, Justice and Equality" and "The time is now" since long, but didnt follow on with him...

I recently re-discovered the 12" "Fussing and Fighting" that is killa, as well as the almighty "Capture Land"...

And saw that he has 4 self produced albums recorded in the golden years:

-Forward in the land of Love (1976) (Half Moon Studio + Players)
-Ten Years of Stranger Cole (1978)
-Capture Land (1980)
-The Patriot (1982) (same as "Fussing and Fighting")

Patriot stuff rec at Wackies is wicked!! Capture land is very great...

*I have never heard first two and I guess there is more killer roots from the man... Do you know more? I would love so!! Very subtile roots. Please help*

On patriot there is clearly a clash between the Wackies Stuff (Red Gold & Green and Fussing and Fighting) and the rest... Its not credited to Wackies but Im quite certain it is. Those are pure wickedness the rest is not so interesting...

Capture Land on Stranger's own Tamu label is one of the tuffest roots singles I own... There are two versions of the song, both incredible, one on the Reggae Goodies LP and the Tamu version.

Waouh... didnt know there was another alternate cut on a single version.... Is there a dub to it?
Dis one is ruff...!! Is it the same cut as on capture land LP, with horns? I guess: have a listen here...

Nope it's a different version, I'll see if I can get a sample for you later tonight, gotta record it... I think all incarnations of the song are wicked, perhaps the Tamu having the heaviest bass of the three versions I've heard. The Capture Land LP version is amazing though, would love to get my hands on that eventually!

Wow ... haven't heard any of those albums. The deep canadian reggae truly is one of my favourite sounds.

So we can maybe make each other discover the other version we have... So there are 3 versions of Capture Land.... at least!

The track "It Takes Time" is great! I love the raw vibe of the backing... great stuff.

"Forward in the Land of Love" has some nice songs on it, but suffers from being a poor pressing and having poor mastering. The sound is not good at all.
