truly sad news, very sad news. A crucial stone in reggae edification and he was still great in live... why do they all have to die so early ???
thoughts for him and his family

"Concerns have been raised recently for the welfare of Alton Ellis, who after collapsing at a show at London’s 100 Club in August has been receiving treatment in hospital, with reports suggesting his condition is currently extremely serious.
One of the true greats of Jamaican music, he had appeared to be on the road to recovery after receiving treatment to eliminate cancer of the lymph glands at end of last year, but after resuming his live work in the spring it soon became apparent he had been greatly weakened by the effects of the chemotherapy.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Alton, a man whose immense talent is equalled by his gentleness and modesy – may he make a full recovery and be back to full-fitness very soon."
