one of my FAVORITE rhythms, the bones behind Tappa Zukie's "Tribute To Steven Biko" and I-Roy's "New York City" - where is this rhythm from? is there an original version of this? and can anyone cite any other versions of this rhythm?
any help would be much appreciated...
thanks in advance!

The Tappa Zukie version is over **["Blessed Are They"](http://www.roots-archives.com/release/3 ... ight=50969)** by Cornell Campbell. Don't know the I-Roy cut so can't help you there.

The I Roy cut is also over "Cornell Campbell - Blessed Are They" issued on the UK label Third World in 1978 with I Roy rightly headlining as the "A" side :-)

Ah yes, I should have guessed as **["Blessed Are They"](http://www.roots-archives.com/release/3 ... ight=48924)** preceeds **["New York City"](http://www.roots-archives.com/release/3 ... ight=48925)** on the Trojan Legends Box Set. :)
