Anyone know anything about Steve Machete?
I just heard a couple tracks by him, "Back to Ethiopia" on the "Overstand" riddim from Pow Pow productions, and "I Rise" on the "Ruff & Tuff" riddim also from Pow Pow. I'd never heard him before and don't see anything about him on RA.
Fantastic voice, good lyrics, and the Pow Pow riddims are sweet, too. What else has he done? I definitely want to hear it.

One of my favorite under-rated artists, yeah he's really armed with a killer voice. I have few tunes from him back in the mid-80s, when he was more of a sing-jay at that time. A twist of JR. Reid and pinchers combination. That was the time when it really caught on and was pretty much invented by junior Reid. Anyway, there's a Steve machette tune from jammy's label, from that time period called baldhead rastaman, tune is murderer. Another one is lonely man off a uhuru sounds 7", the riddim was more like from fatis vena label stuff from that time period. I know the riddim was also played on pinchers- mass out album, nice album. Then there's one tune from him which may have been his first tune, not sure, but he sounded as if he may have been around 10 or 12 years old. This tune is also on uhuru sounds, either 79 or very early 80s, only pressed on compilation that I know of. Alot of his tunes now are still quality but no longer the sing-jay style that i bremember him from back in the mid 80s.
