I was wondering if this is the original 1977 cut
of the "punky reggae party" tune by bob marley

I found this gem on an compilation album called "this is Reggae Music" released by Island Records in 1977.

yup! i agree it's definitely a perry cut (but i wouldn't have guessed it if u didn't mention it). either way it's a really tight version of an already tight tune!! imho it's better than the original :-)) thanks for the insight.

now if anyone has exact knowledge about this version please tell us :-)

btw:

it wasn't to hard though to find the original jamming b-side.

Will have to give it a listen later, but I know of two 12 inch mixes, one released on [Tuff Gong](http://www.smokeyroom.net/images/bigup/ ... ffgong.jpg) and another one released on [Black Art](http://www.smokeyroom.net/images/bigup/ ... ckart2.jpg), both different mixes.

i found yet another art work of this LP in this youtube video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjs8IdADlO0&fmt=18

(it says the album was released in the netherlands.)

i just want to let u know that this "rico - dial africa" song is the same one on my album. so i reckon the rest of the album must be very much identical.

the comment by @BadPsyTron says

"This is Reggae Music album.
This record was originally recorded in The Netherlands. Some rare tracks are on that album. Too bad I never found this vinyl on CD ever so far.
So, if you have it? please pm me."

though i doubt it that this particular record was actually recorded in the netherlands. and there is definetly no proof at all that this was actually a live recording, because if u listen carefully u can hear the looping of the cheering crowd. obviously that has been added later on in the studio. but that's again another topic.

Leggo, the Live cut is the one from "Babylon By Bus". That version here is the best mix Ive heard so far(there are 3 or 4 in total) but that chune is definitely, imho, one of the weakest of the king.

I disagree with you "Leggo Rocker". In my opinion...

1. The drum and bass aren't the same in this tune as the ones in the final mix. (As Lee Perry have said he didn't abandon the original takes of drum and bass.)

2. Just because it has some percussion with echo doesn't mean that its some black ark thing.

Still Visitor, Leggo is true, its a Black Ark recording.
