Al Campbell Working Man: overrated!!!!!

Now, here is a solid album but way overrated on Ebay; I mean this LP fetches close to 100 GBP when, in reality, many of Al's LPs are superior and significantly more affordable; Examples: Rainy Days, Mr Music, No More Running; Does anyone else agree? Funny how Ebay glorifies some titles and build "myths"!!!

but ebay itself doesnt glorify anything; its a worldwide marketplace and buyers do the glorifying! and buyers can be a funny breed sometimes especially if they are way out in the sticks and dont have easy access to shops in london (though they do have access to them via internet obviously).

now if a seller wants to put some stupidly high opening bid/buy it now on an item again its not ebay doing the glorification and when no one buys it, one begins to learn the true value of the item!

i love ebay but then again i dont buy records there.

I bought Mr. Music quite cheap but must admit that I wasn't overty impressed. A nice song or two. Perhaps I should give it some more time?

When your friend gives you a copy (along with DOwn the Drain 12, Freddie MCKay on Roots INternational 12, sealed copies od RZ JAckson's album with BArry Brown as Jah Smile amongst mnay other 12's he gave me today!) it's worth it. Like rasdragon and I discussed there's only a couple tunes on there that are playout worthy - I'd drop it for the 2 12's pretty easily.

"Hey &*^&**, I got these three crates of reggae 12's/lp's from this Italian garage sale in Mississauga and I'm only keeping the covers (my friend is obsessed with reggae covers). Oh and I think they're all store stock. Finally, I get to give you some records"

Gotta love freinds like this.

Yeah, like JB Welda stated you are just a cog in the engine price of said LP. Like plane tickets, with luck one day you will get to pay YOUR price for the LP....and your price along with everybody elses (stored in their sunconscious) makes the aggregate market price of about 100 pounds it seems.

@ jbwelda
That Scientist album has been rereleased in 2000. I know that I mentioned it on a thread from last year or so. Look for 'Scientist at King Tubby's' on Reggae Road label (Al Campbell's outlet) matrix RRPRLP7, distributed by Jet Star in UK. Sadly they changed the cover artwork and the titles.
