Just received a copy of Dennis Brown Visions on the Joe Gibbs label - Jamaican pressing.
Were there any good UK or US pressings of this LP? (better vinyl!)

Thanks
Gregg

Easy in Canada. Sealed original copies all over the place.

There is even a most recent re-issue from Uk on the Crazy Joe/ Joe Gibbs UK label...excellent thick and clean Uk repress.

As mentioned above the copy I have (Joe Gibbs sealed from Ernie B) is "loud, clear with a wide dynamic range" however the actual vinyl does not seem to be the best quality so there is some "snap crackle and pop".

PS played on a HIGH end turntable so it is the vinyl quality which is the problem and not the deck

Thanks
Gregg

"Those wanting to get the best out of their vinyl do need the best deck, cartridge and phono stage they can afford. It all makes so much difference. A really good stylus, one capable of digging deep into the groove, will reveal much more of the detail that is hidden in that groove - even Jamaican grooves"

So true! Not wanting to sound elitist however thats why I use a LP12!

You have to give the Linn credit. It is the only turntable introduced in 1973 - still manufactured today - and still considered the reference point for all others.

If you want to look at other decks have a listen to Rega's lineup. Their entry turntables are killer - I am sure they will knock the socks off of your Sony (and they cost the same price).
