Are tunes like Prophecy and Tribal War on this LP the original recordings?

Funnily enough I picked this up on Tafari yesterday.

According to "Tafari Earth Uprising" liner notes it's from 1989 and "...featuring all the old hits, but with some recuts on the originals".

Only had a chance to play a couple of tracks and "Tribal War" sounded like the original to me. Must have a proper listen and comparison when I get a chance.

Incidentally, on the back cover it says, and I quote,
"This is his second album and will be, according to Reggae connoisseurs, another collectors item." :)

Had the feeling they would be recuts, but didnt hear it yet for myself..
6anbatte, if you can confirm this, please let us know..

It does dound like they've 'cleaned up' the record a bit. The instruments sound a little different specially the drum) if you compare it with the original Tafari 7 inch.
It's the very same recordingsession though, except that the version on "Tafari Earth Uprising" is a few seconds shorter, fades out sooner.

Not sure I agree with Ron on this as 3 tracks are definitely different to the originals. Sorry, but I don't have time to elaborate, but will tomorrow.

Tribal War - same as original
Christopher Columbus - slightly faster than original. No backing vocals
Forces - same as original
Prophecy - same as original
Ticket To Zion - same as original
Natty Yard - same as original
Earth - has syndrums (at least that's what I assume the sound it) on it. Bit like the ones on the **["Rub A Dub Style"](http://www.roots-archives.com/release/1922)**
Easy Chair - again has syndrums on it.
Buff & Peng - only appears to be on this album
Mr. T - same as original

Didn't have a chance to compare running times.

I generally do not like syndrums, but they do work in this case. The album is definitely worth getting particularly if it is at bargain basement price.
