Rythm & Sound 10" - We Been Troddin

mmmmh... this is my first digital topic... am I getting sick...? ;)

But anyway, I've pretty enjoyed a few digikal releases by "Rythm and Sound" on their 10" releases (the 7" *See Mi Yah* is not too bad neither). The use of delay and reverb really bring something different and warmer than the JA drummachines, that sound generally too "computer music" for me.

My favourite is this one (sample there):

Reminds me a bit the Wackies sound. Of course its digital, but the effects and the loopy ultra low bassline is great and brings a smoky mystic atmosphere. A bit apart of the UK reggae stepper that I usually dont enjoy cause they are too "dry".

Their release with Cornell Campbell is intersting too, as the tune "What a mistry".

Just wanted to greet a nice new digital try. Any others that enjoy?

...nice sound... the killa IMO is mash down babylon by the chosen brothers...... very very dark & obscure...

Funny you say they remind you of WACKIES
because they are behind the WACKIES re-releases.

Check the Paul St Hilaire release "SHOWCASE"
on their BURIAL MIX label

What's going on with Basicchannel these days? Someone knows if there are any new releases coming out?

The last Wackies was released 2008 and the last on Basic Replay was even in 2007.

I would be happy about any new (re-)releases by Wackies or Basic Replay.
