Prince Far I quintessential album

I have read that Prince Far I has a very heavy and dark vibe to his music. Dark reggae and dub are some of my favorite reggae vibes (ie Augustus Pablo, Yabby You, Keith Hudson etc.) and I was curious what a good starting point would be for Prince Far I. I know this is sometimes impossible but I'm not really looking for personal favorites, just his archetypal album (which is problematic because that's highly subjective and often just personal favorites
Thanks!

I actually prefer some of the slightly later Far I:
Voice of Thunder, Jamaican Heroes, and the stuff he did on the Singers & Players records was great.
Haven't heard Livity. Isn't that near impossible to find?

Subjective as you say, but I'd always go for this:

"Under Heavy Manners" is more accessible or as Leggo Rocker says with a little more humour, even appears Joseph Hill“s voice....other favourite is "Free From Sin" but all his works are good.
Recently found in a blog a live recording from 1981 in Germany the sound is not good, it was recorded in a cassette, but is interesting and an opportunity to imagine their live performances.

Check him out here.

Just about all Prince Far I releases are essential listening.
LIVITY (see above) and MESSAGE FROM THE KING
can be found on BLACKMAN LAND.....A good starter,
All of the CRY TUFF DUB ENCOUNTERS
(including DUBWISE on Virgin's Frontline ) are excellent!
"PSALMS FOR I" is my least favorite.
I would not recommend it for a starter.
But check it on the link above, you might love it.
Prince Far I can be "DARK" but is one of the FUNNIEST Reggae artists as well.
Just check SKINHEAD on the VOICE OF THUNDER album for that side of him

"Free From Sin" is my favourite. Dark and heavy.
