first I would like to say hi and respect to everyone in this forum, I know about Roots Archives long time ago, but I've never watched the forum....until today, no doubt this is going to be a good source of information for me!
The second issue is....ask for help!
One year ago I bought a [Greensleeves 12"](
http://www.discogs.com/Cygnus-Silhouett ... se/1332061)credited to Cygnus and I don´t remember it until I saw today while looking for another.
I searched for information but have not found much...someone knows something about Cygnus? what I have seen only recorded two 12" for Greensleeves in 1978 and one track, "Silhoutte", was included next year on a compilation called "Reggae Jam" also on Greensleeves.
and this all by the moment!!
Thanks!

I have the "Aint Stoppin Us Now" on the UK label "Freedom Sounds". I remember of a nice roots 12" tune on the label "plaistic is fantastic".
One tune on Greensleevs is really nice with a special drumming changings from one drop to stepper.

Unfortunately no. However I would welcome anyone who could start this, because cygnus was one of the pioneering British reggae bands and the now reggae generation needs to know who went before. Thank you for reminding me about our trip to Spain, we had a great time.

hi everyone
and greetings specially to lenny deneb.congraulations for accepting to surface and enlighten people about your group as 2 members of the once bristol-based talisman did when the threaad about talisman was initiated in this forum.once again congratulations to the inceptors of this beautiful forum for the job they did and for the enthousiasm they created even among the now disbanded groups.
i have personnally never known the group and don't really remmber having come across their music(unless it is one cygnus featured on the famous compilation"reggae on tempus").indeed the now reggae generation needs to know what went before.particulaly here in my country where the wave created by the likes of luciano, morgan heritage sizzla, dezarie, midnite,to name but a few,has managed to convert former rap enthousiasts to reggae devotees, who unfortunately have a tendency to limiting everything to the 90's and the 2000. some of them even went on to state tha alton ellis covered"iam still in love" from sean paul to give you an example.and iam glad and congratulate also sustraiandi for taking such an initiative to tell the story of the now disbanded outfits, mostly in the wake of this new tendency which consists in reuniting 70's and vintage bands.
all the best and congratulations to everyone out there.

i am also unfamiliar with the band but would love to hear more baout them, like Fadel said we've had many band members reunite on this forum over the years i think both Talisman and Dambala etc.
It's good to see the founder of the band finding the thread, i hope he can shed some light on the group.
If you have some info and photos+text etc. i'd be happy to put up and host a small website for you if you can provide the content.

yes bwoyrough and iam glad such a kind of forum like RA has been able to do that;hats off once again to the inceptors of this forum.i have talked to locksley gichie since joining facebook too about them trying to do a reunion tour:he is very enthousiastic about it even though carl levy who is now residing in the usa is not willing to partake but one never knows.it seems to me that the reunion of vintage 70's band has become fashionable these days in the wake of the cuban buena vista social club and senegalese baobab orchestra who went on to be very succesful after almost 20 years split.
needless to say that any info is welcome
