*"The late, great King Tubby (aka Osborne Ruddock) got his start in the 60's; he wasn't a musician (Tubby wasn't an instrumentalist, as such) but he was a recording engineer."*

Tubby was a genious of sound, perhaps he's not been talked about much because most already recognise his skill at producing rhythms?

Yes but still everybody knows Bob Marley and still talk about him. I dont have any problem with it at all but still you could just discuss him coz he was one of the greatest stars of Dub if not the greatest.

But don't forget Lee “Scratch“ Perry!
Massive respect to all of them! Big up!

Yeah Scratch also made some good dub but there is a difference between King Tubby and Lee "Scratch" Perry dub. Tubbys is more stripped just with a little percussion and a great bass and the riff making rhythm guitar and some vocals echoing sometimes, Scratch have horns and so on so his Dub is more Reggae'ish but still he have made som heavy dub numbers "Drum Rock" for example.

theres some lovely tunes on 'tribute to king tubby's the original dub master'
'sound clash, dub plate style, part 2' always loved the tune "die dub" on that album, theres a vocal version too which is pretty good.
