Fellow roots experts, I have just purchased this LP for top USD on the "Phil Pratt" label; I noticed the cover has a SunShot reference on cover (SS1002), and that the cover I purchased has a weaker print on cover than that of the Sunshot press; Anyone knows if the SunShot was the 1st press, and the Phil Pratt a re-issue? The press I purchased is so mint, I wonder if its not a bootleg! Thanks.

Never seen that press before - only Sunshot. Are these not questions to be asked before the purchase? Does it sound good?

sound is perfect;the cover is less "photo like" than the SunShot press; Like a black & white photocopy (printed on normal cardboard)

Thanks for you input; It s obvious that the SunShot is the original; Phil Pratt probably copied the cover, and used good stamper to get this pressed a couple weeks/months/or years after the SunShot release. The SunShot release has a well defined Al Campbell photo cover, the Pratt release is like a photocopy of that photography, where details are lost to a more black & white ourtput with no levels of greys.

Sound clips of all the tracks from the Sunshot LP original UK pressing. The other one on the Phil Pratt label original is distributed by Pama (UK). Which seem to go for less money than the Sunshot label one. Both have the same matrix number. Both labels are phil`s, both issues are original. Price reflects how rare it is. I think there were less pressed up on the Sunshot label. Both are from the same stamper & overseen by Phil.
