Perhaps the Generation Gap Band is not a great band in Jamaican music history(?), but I feel they should be represented in RA. So here is an addition for the Archive!

The Generation Gap Band - Red Hot Reggae
(Album Art work and Info [can be found here >>](http://www.trinity-sound.com/Generation_Gap_Band.zip)

I bought my album copy in Kingston 1988. From the sound and musicians I would guess it was recorded somewhere around 1985-86. The music is easy listening, laid back and Twelve Tribe in vibe. The Lyrics are social gospels spiced with biblical morals (excepted Freddie’s tune, which is "in the mood for a party tonight"). Musicians and arrangements are very professional. The album is poorly mixed though and the production is overall, in my opinion, quite boring.

The Generation Gap Band is most known for being, together with the 12 Tribes Band, the house band for the 12 tribes stageshows in JA in the 70's and 80's.

Personally I don't know about any other recording by the Generation Gap Band, but I believe there are. Does anyone on the RA board know more about this group and their recordings?

(RA moderators, feel free to move/copy this thread to the Contribute forum, if preferred. 12 tribes music is in general a topic for discussion, that's why I post it here.)
