yuh know how the original jah fire LP was printed pon 2 labels dem. one being live & love, an the other being arawak.
does dem both sound identical or is one mixed different than the other? the one pon live & love , mi know jammy deal wid more than arawak, so does that mean live & love come out with jah fire 1st or what? mi dunno if everybody dem really happend to read beth lesser's king jammy book, great book of all waterhouse singers an dj dem. anyway, she interview jammy, an she ax him if actually lacksley sing 2 songs dem pon jah fire an him seh yeah ca, him nah have a compet album with hugh mundell, so him record lacksley to complete the album, since dem sound almost identical. i dun think it was really jammy'$ intention to let anyone know dat it t'was actually lacksley an some a dem tracks. dat why it never mention him pon the original LP's not until the reissue dem come out. but si mi know, mi was reading some hugh mundell meassage ting pon dis forum, an dem claim a 4 track split between both artist dem. like mundell do 4 an castell do the other 4. dis a whey dem claim seh an how dem list it up.

mi know fa sure black sheep an million miles from home is really missah castell. so can anyone really confirm dem? ca since it really came fram a interview wid jammy's, an dem seh 2 track was voiced by castell, which one yah a yuh a go believe. hunless jammy feget truly how many him have lacksley do. i man a think it like dis coz if dem really wanted the LP to be a mundell & castell clash, it should a been dun like that, but since it jus mundell- jah fire then dat really lead mi to belive that jammy'$ come fe mek yuh believe that all dem tracks dem mundell, at that time when the LP 1st release. liek mi seh, i dun tink it was jammys intention to ever tell anyone that castell was pon any a dem tracks.
since castell an mundell an junior reid use to hang togeda inna waterhouse an practice dem singing, dem really all start sounding the same. i'm jus really glad thatjammy's did mess up or did that inna wey so wi could have an LP that have 2 extremely well talented youths sing togeda pon one LP. since dem long gone dem never forgotten.

I don't understand the whole question, but regarding this LP it is more a Castell LP than a Mundell one.

There are actually 5 Castell tunes which are:

Million Miles
My Woman Can
You Over There
Black Sheep
Be My Princess

I'm quite sure of that and if you listen carrefully you will heard slight differences between Castell & Mundell. Actually the difference are definitly obvious when you know who sing what.

I'm not a great fan of Castell, neithe Mundell. But IMVHO the Castell side if far better than the Mundell one. "My Woman Can" being the best tune of the set, IMO again...

i man a really disagree, bout the chune be my princess lay, i tink dat actually mundell cut that song. i tink people tink jus coz the chune pon the album castell mek is "princess lady" doesn't necessarily mean it fram the same singer. listen keenly, it mundell.

There's no way that Mundell sang "Princess Lady" 'pon the Jah Fire album. It's clearly Lacksley's voice, and wasn't it written by him anyway?

I agree too, Castell sing this one for sure, not Hugh voice...
(Kool Wareika, my fav is too "my woman can" on the album!)

Please pisce, just believe what I'm saying about this Jah Fire LP. These infos about who sing what are really well known since long time among reggae collectors. Oh and if I don't know something, or if I have some doubt I always menteion it on my post.


Otherwise I can't believe you don't hear the dfference between both voice.

nuff t'anks yah, fe the feedback yuh gi mi.well lang time yuh know seh mi is a fan a both artist dem, yuh no see't? if jah people seh, it nah mundell voice pon it, then mi mussa accept it. been years since mi hear that LP, but mi always belive it to be him. if it truly lacksley pon the tune yah wi talk bout. dere mus be 2 different cut of princess lady, yuh si whey mi a talk bout? since the one pon jah fiyah an the one pon the princess lady LP two differnt version a cut. unu massive agree wi mi deh ? all a de yoot deh inna arena right nuh, enlighten de i since i-man really jus really gwan by memory fram the LP's dem, been time ago, since mi hear dem chune dem a play.

just one question regarding your opinion on Jammy not wanting to let everyone know of Lacksley Castell singing on this album :
how come then that on the labels of the original Live & Love release are written both of them names and composers credits go to both Hugh Mundell and Lacksley Castell ? See what I mean ?

hail up, my yoot. mi only si the one pon the arawak label, time ago. fram a whey mi remember, it had no mention a castell pon the label. so mi never si the live &love one. mi see't nuh pon roots-archives, but it only mention dem as composers, but never show which one's dem compose, does it?
so but why, jammy come an jus label the cover hugh mundell- jah fire/ why not supm like hugh mundell meets lacksley castell- jah fire, hugh mundell vs. lacksley castell- jah fire. supm like a showcase are supm like that. why come in like jus hugh mundell- jah fire an strictly him face dem draw up pon the front cover, still it deceiving, to mi anyway. so yuh won't realize til yuh open the LP or coo pon it keenly. well, not until nuh yuh si dem repress dat it really have castell name straight pon the cover a the LP.
tell mi a whey yuh tink bout dat. i&i haffe iditate an do some reasonings, yuh si whey mi a seh? dat was a good point bellyman, but check fe a whey mi tell yuh an if yuh si mi.
