Can you please help me, I would love to know who is the original author of the song ''Shine Eye Gal''. I have Barrington Levy's version and Black Uhuru's but they are both from 1979, so I can't tell. Please help!

There are 2 different Barrington Levy versions. The single or 12inch are the ones to check out, called Shine Eye Girl. It was also released on his 1999 Bounty Hunter album
Black Uhuru's version is one of the all time greats particularly the extended version - amazing Dub!

Prince Far I recorded a track called 'Shine Eye Gal'. It's been ages since I heard it, so I don't remember that much about it.

@Johan
It's the same riddim, but "updated".....producer Jah Life "modernized" the CD release by adding keyboards and a drum machine.

Thanks, mate. Yeah, I actually dug out my 'Under Heavy Manners' CD the other day and listened to it again...
I do like your site - I've been dipping in and out of it for years now, whilst trying to complete my PFI collection. Any updates on the horizon, by the way? I had thought that it had long been abandoned (sorry).
