i buddy of mine told me that one of my all time favorite bands (aswad) is back together... can anyone confirm this for me? thanks.

It seems like Brinsley Forde joined Drummie Zeb and Tony Gad for this performance only. (Or the two of them joined Brinsley Forde and the TAXI gang?)

The played a gig at Broadlands (former estate of Lord Mountbatten) at Romsey near Southampton a couple of weeks ago.

100% ,Aswad consists of Tony Gad and Drummie Zeb,the musicians may change but Tony and Drummie are always there.
They have never stopped touring,just not in the UK so much,there is also a new Album.

come on guys.iam afraid iam teading on path that has always been dealt with on previous threads.
aswad could not be stripped down to 2 persons.what's more you all know that tony gad has never been a founding memeber of aswad even though he evolved around the ladbroke grove possees that oftentimes played with delroy washington in the 70's.
my guess is that when sDROOTS mentioned the reunion of aswad he meant at least brinsley forde joining again.
i personnally thought that the island records 50 year-anniversary would have gathered the majority of the original line up be it just for this special occasion ,as i believe that they are all alive.

I try to avoid answering post's on his site nowadays as some people seem to have a serious problem simply answering the question and feel they have to extend the question to let us all know how much they know about reggae music.
Fadel, we have had this conversation before!
I don't know how many reggae festivals you get to go to but i can tell you i have seen Aswad this year and when they play warrior charge no person in the crowd cares if any member is original or not,they just enjoy the music.
Gladiators,Third World,Wailers,Skatelites,Congos,Led Zepplin,Rolling Stones even Oasis, None of these bands consist of the original line up and the majority of people that go to concerts and festivals don't care!
