Picked this up from my local British Heart Foundation Shop at the weekend.

Matrix Number - TBLP 101
Recording and mixing engineer - Errol Brown
Recorded and mixed at Treasure Isle Studios
Produced by Rupert Prince (the other brother is Neil)
It's on the Thunderbolt Label
Manufactured by Orbitone Records, London NW10

Musicians;
Drums - Sly
Bass and Guitar - Ranchie
Keyboards - Ansel Collins
Trumpet - Bobby Ellis
Saxophone - Herman Marquis

I have definitely seen a picture of this album before so apologies if there is a previous post relating to this album. (I did a number of searches, but drew a blank).

Only had a chance for a brief listen and it sounded very similar to The Starlights (Stanley Beckford).

Any other info gratefully accepted. The year, for example?

Oh, and it has one of the most bizarre covers I have ever seen. If no one can point me in the direction of more info I will definitely upload a picture of it. :)

Nice mento/reggae rarity, i only have the 45s 'Ram Jam' and 'open The Door' on High Note. Both 45s credti the Revolutionairies as backing band, sounds like 1977-78 to me.

check www.mentomusic.com you'll find some information there ( just type prince brothers in the search engine)

there are two different sleeves scanned there:

If yours is different from these, please send a scan to Mentomusic.

Hi Jumbo

Thank you for the info! :)

It's similar to the 2nd one (ie it is the same photo), but isn't full colour. It's black and green.
I'll try and take a photo of it as I don't have the facility to scan it if it is still of interest.

Hi 6anbatte,
that must be a nice one,

if you could take a picture of the front and back sleeve and of the label, i am sure the people at Mentomusic.com will appriciate it. i admitted some scans myself and they always put them there neatly, along with proper credits.

When i checked out 'The Prince Bropther'i did see that they dont have the scan of my ópen the door'single so i'll send that to them as well

Hi Jumbo

The odd thing is I have definitely seen the cover somewhere before, but I have no idea where. Since I bought it on Sunday I have searched everywhere to try and find out where it was. Old magazines and books I own and sites I've visit regularly, but still no joy.

Maybe I dreamt it! :)

Also I'd already bought a couple of albums and was walking towards the exit when the guy in the shop walked past me and put Ram Jam in one of the racks on the wall to replace one of the albums I'd just bought. Two seconds later and I would have missed it! :)

When I get a chance I'll definitely send them some pics.

Hi Jumbo

I forwarded the links onto Mike at www.mentomusic.com so hopefully he will already have them.

Actually managed to sit down and play it last night and really enjoyed it. Particularly liked the title track and "A Fi Me Something". Excellent stuff! :)
