This is a nice album indeed. There are a lot of post 85 albums which have an old school touch worthy a mention.

I always considered Blowing with The Wind as my favourite "post-85" album.
Valley Of Jehosaphat is my least favourite of the official albums (recognized as his music at least by Pablo himself)

i just realized that I hadn't listen to "Valley Of Jehosaphat" since it was released.
when I bought it I was disappointed, also Pablo's passing in 99 made me somehow to...well, not wanting to listen to it again. But after reading Jah Bill's opinion (and knowing him as a man of taste) I gave it another listen today.
I forgot that I was actually at some of those studio sessions (in London), many memories came back.....still, I honestly think that by then Pablo's fire was extinguishing. Not much interesting playing-wise, production-wise or melody-wise (especially compared to his 70s and 80s work). A few good tracks but hardly a classic.
"Valley Of Jehosaphat" is my least favourite of the official albums (recognized as his music at least by Pablo himself).
( I don't consider bootleg rubbish like Augustus Last Stand, Jah Inspiration. etc..
as official Pablo albums)

I didn't see much in "VOJ" either, and I'm with you on "Blowing With The Wind" being the last truly good one. Some fantastic arrangements, with one song even including a Johnny Moore trumpet solo. I believe that one came out in 1990 or 1991. I pulled out out not too long ago, and still sounded stunningly fresh. It's an LP that seems to have gotten overlooked.

thanks for the compliment; means a lot coming from you inyaki.
but i thought you were on the track to discovering what you passed over the first time...oh well guess not this time. to tell the truth my preconceived notion was the same as your studied notion...but then i listened to it a few times and really liked it. ok maybe not the same fire as earlier releases but its still very good and stands well on its own imo.
