The Mikey Dread show, or similar tracks featuring radio "dubs"

Hey there.

Does anybody know if there were many other records made in this radio show style - featuring radio jingles & sound effects etc? My knowledge is a little limited but it looks to me like this was pretty much a one off occurrence?

I've been producing Drum and Bass for a few years now, (though I hate to say it) as the scene has suffered over the last few years, it's kind of lost the "roots" compared to the kinds of vibes that it used to have, if you know what I mean?

So I've been trying to breath some life in to my own music by finding MC's from Jamaica to work with, I did a few tracks with some of the smaller artists around Kingston like Saba Tooth, Ricky Benz, and some others but I never managed to catch the vibes I was after, or make much impact on the scene.

I started focusing more on sampling and using samples (I don't know how you guy's really feel about sampling) for me it's not about steeling music etc, it's quite a personal experience and a way of paying homage to the artists I respect, particularly roots reggae artists, but I've started to realize how out of touch I am with roots reggae, the whole process has began to loose meaning for me, that's why I ask.

I love artists like the Heptones, Culture, Far I, Tubby, Busta, but I don't feel the same magic that I used to when I listen to them now (just on the prowl for samples etc) :(

If anyone can throw me any suggestions for tracks to sample I'd be grateful, especially tracks that have in some way made a personal connection with you? it might help me also.
