Hi y'all
I'd like to know people's favorite answer-tune/action-counteraction. Classic or new, it's a great tradition in Jamaican music and I'm trying to track down some more examples, ones that are especially clever, funny, or interesting
some examples:
Tenor Saw - "Ring the Alarm"
NItty Gritty - "False Alarm"
Echo Minott - "What the hell can the police do"
Lady Junie - "Tell you what the police can do"
Starkey Banton - "Jungle Bungle"
Tenor Fly - "Don't Dis the Jungle"

These are all from this decade, but anyway:
Shaggy - "It Wasn't Me"
Lady Saw - "Son of a Bitch" is pretty funny.
And there are many good Bounty Killer/ Beenie Man counteractions, but I can't think of their names now because I haven't heard them in a long time. I may try to look them up later.
Really funny one is:
Baby Cham -"Ghetto Story"
Supahype - "Uptown Story"

derrick morgan - tougher than tough

All from '67...always assumed buster's came first. Did it?

Now you mention it Gaks, isn't "Girlie girlie" already an answer to "Don't fool the young girls" by the Gladiators ?
