All I have are a few lyrics but I heard the song live at the midwest reggae fest played by Carlos Jones but thought it may have been a cover.

what i can make of the chorus is..

the world is in a state iyya
thats why i have to blaze fiya
the system they create iyya
is to manipulate iyya

its not much but any help if you recognize any of the lyrics would be great! i just want to find out who it is and get a copy for myself! much thanks!!!

Ok, there is this song I've heard that I know nothing about. It sounds like it could be Don Carlos, or atleast the lyrical delivery is about the same, and so is the music. I think its specific genre is Lovers Rock Reggae.

The lyrics go as follows leading to the chorus: "No expensive drink but Im still drinkin....I wanna dance with you oooo.....to the sweet reggae muuuusic...no expensive shoes but Im still dancin....Im dancin with youoooo...to the sweet reggae musuusic....yeah".

Anyways, if you could tell me the artist or the exact title I would greatly appreciate it for it is a wonderful song.

I heard this song long time ago.The riddim is similar to that of 'Rocksteady party' by Leroy Sibbles. Its an extended version (12"?).

It starts with a chorus whose english (if its english) i dont understand. The first verse goes like:

"She a de african daughter..
she a de indian daughter..
Just to mention a few
You go uptown...dem know of
you go downtown...dem know of
you dont have to use some skill to achieve...."

Its a group vocal kinda style.
sounded like mighty diamonds (but not sure)

Help please.
