Afaik 'skin up' means to roll a spliff, it's 'skin teeth' that means laugh.

I however may be wrong.

I think that is wrong - what self respecting rasta would advocate not rolling up a spliff???!!

Skin up means smile, as in skin (lip) is up over the teeth I guess.

as defined by ranking trevor in the following previous thread, nuh skin up means "don't smile"...

Probaby those who're strictly chalice smokers. ;)

Like I said I might be wrong but that's what I always thought it meant.

Side note: I always pictured Mr. Hudson as somewhat of a drunk. This is most probably lightyears away from the truth but he sorta sounds like one when he sings, drunk and lonely. :D

Edit: And I do agree, having a reggae album named 'Don't roll up spliffs' seems highly unlikely.

This looks like the likely meaning. It's halfway down in the middle of the S's

Although this is not patois, but the reason for why I thought it meant what I said earlier.

Also to SKIN your teeth is like making the TSSSK sound
when you do not agree with something.
