Hello all.

While in Kingston this summer, I heard on the radio a dub tune featuring Rico, that started out with a sort of spanish/flamenco sounding horns-only intro.

It was absolutely spine-tingling. I thought I heard the DJ say the title had the word "wareika" in it, but its' definitely not on the Warrika Dub album

it's a minor key dub tune with the flamenco-ish feel throughout, as I recall.

does anyone have a guess about what this track could be?

Maybe the "Jungle Signal" by Mikey Dread with Rico featured on trombone and Tan Tan on trumpet.

Btw, one of my alltime faves, the horns tear down the walls and you can mash up any dance with this tune. Real wicked, true murderation. :D

Another track comes to my mind. "Free Ganja" ,released on 12" by Island in 1978 right before the recordings started for the 'Man from Wareika' album.

The tune starts off with the horns mourning over a slow beat and then starts off into a beautiful instrumental skank.

This one can be found on the "Roots to the Bone" compilation by Island and on the rerelease of "Man from Wareika" on Island/Japan.
