What do you listen to

besides reggae.
I am a huge fan of the 60's and 70's soul (Motown, Philly, Salsoul etc.) and the funk from the same period. Also love 50's rockabilly/garage (just got a hold of the "Born to be bad"-compilations if that rings any bells") and some hip-hop (mainly british hardcore from the 80's).
Also would like to mention that my favourite artist within any genre and any period of time would have to be Curtis Mayfield/Impressions, they never stop moving me!
Sooo, how about you?

Currently hot on the Ipod - Duck Sauce (Armand van Helden and A-Trak) plus an old one - Surfing on Sine Waves (Polygon Window aka Aphex Twin), also played Mike Dearborn's Unbalanced Frequency (DJax 12") the other day and it's as bad a pressing as I remembered it to be.

The LPs on Analog Africa are well worth a listen. I've got the 'African Scream Contest' and the The Orchestre Poly-Rythmo de Cotonou comp. The research and detail in the sleeve notes is amazing and the music is awesome, lost afrofunkvoodooboogie from Benin. I caught Orchestre Poly-Rythmo at the Barbican recently - blew me away: hard core Afro-funk. They had people dancing in the aisles for real!

Currently hot on my portable:
1. Dream Theater - Black Clouds & Silver Linings
Wicked & epic prog rock/metal - love it!
2. Fela Kuti & Africa 70s - Expensive Shit
Afrobeat at its very best. Gets me skanking everytime.
3. Lord Kitchener - Kitch '67
Mighty calypso by the king. This is a must have!
4. DJ Premier - Crooklyn Cuts Tape A
Released in 1996 and still one of the best Hip Hop mixtapes i got.
