I'm really hoping someone can help me with this. I can't identify a dj cut I have on a mix tape ("Hot Reggae New'n'Old DJ Style" made by Errol Blair in Negril around 1981). It's labeled "Free Style" and it's on the To Be a Lover/Have Some Mercy riddim.

It opens with "In England you have both queen and king/but all over the world love is a splendid thing." Then he includes the refrain "Have some mercy" throughout and at one point name-checks U-Roy.

I know it's not Jah Lloyd/Lion, and I've checked a couple of the riddim id databases to no avail.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

One more try...
This is not a live session tape, but one of a bunch of 7".

Sounds like it might possibly be U Brown or someone else with roughly the same style/delivery.

Here's hoping someone might have run across it.

Many thanks.
