"Old man River"

Just Playing the Ike Quebec album "It Might As Well Be Spring" and it has a wonderful version of "Old Man River"
This just got me wondering how many reggae tracks have used the riddim to "Old Man River".
The only couple that come to mind are Carlton Patterson "Wash Wash" and the King Tubby dub version that are both on the "Psalms Of Drums" album.
I`d like to know of other tracks using this wicked riddim.

That's Prince Buster's "Wash Wash"
I never thought of "Ole Man River" as a riddim, is more like a melody and chord progression.
Dennis Brown's version was a huge hit.

Not sure if it's the original Jamaican version but there's a Prince Buster 7" of Wash Wash on the Wildbells label from 1964.
The song is based on Ray Charles' 'That Lucky Old Sun.'

If it's Lucky Old Sun you're after, then check out the Lee 'Scratch' Perry treatment called Show Me That River on the Battle of Armagideon album.

Old Man River is symbolically an American version of a famous Russian folksong The Song of the Volga Boatmen. Both songs tell the story of those who live and work on a river boat.
