What was the best (REGGAE) thing for you in 2009 ?
Best Gig / best release / purchase.......etc.
Mine was seeing the great local talent we have here in Brisbane, Australia.
KINGFISHA, DUBMARINE The UPSTEPPERS, KOOII and more
A highlight was The UPSTEPPERS gig where the band backed several local singers covering classic songs like CHASE THE DEVIL, NO NO NO and more ! Wicked nite !

Bunny Wailer repress (dub store). very serious job - a bit expensive some would say but quality has a price.

For me one of the best things Reggae wise about this year is being brave enough to finally post messages in this forum. I have been watching reading and using the site for about two years but never got the courage up to put my five cents worth in.
This has introduced me to great links for all things Reggae.
My favourite purchase of a CD this year has to have been the Soundsystem International-Clancy Eccles The Dynamites & King Tubby from of course Pressure sounds.
I really like this one.
But the way i feel about all things Reggae every peice of music i get if its of the correct vintage.
I hope everyone has an Irie New Year.

1- I finally got Mr.spaulind - 12 tribes of isreal lp !!!
2 - got all my Johnny Clarke records signed by him
3 - I have been very lucky on my record hunting
4 - wicked wicked concerts all year long artist like
Lil John - Wayne smith - Milton Henry - jah batta
Triston Palma - Michael Palmer - Sammy dread
Johnny Clarke - Pablo Moses - Horace Martin
Ect ..... Wicked all the way !!!!!!!

My personal list..
Best gig: Pat Kelly backed by the Moon Invaders
Best release: Delroy Wilson/ Dubplate Style (grows everytime you listen to it)
Best label: definatly Pressure Sounds
Biggest bargain: Bingy Bunny/ Me & Jane LP vg+ for just 12€ (!)
Besides that i was positively shocked how my old records sound after their first professional vacuum cleaning and last but not least i was lucky to play an entire night of roots, rocksteady and rub a dub with some friends on their fully equipped heavyweight soundsystem.
