You can have a few infos on the cd cover : I read he was a record seller who used to sing in his store some producer friend asked him to sing for him. I think he still works in the same place, he is a friend of Prince Allah (you can hear some resemblances). I also really love his album, especially the first song the high times at their top !

ok let's be more precise, cover's summary :

born 1954, Kingston, grew up in greenwich town community where lots of versions were cut, with soul syndicate... He grew up with earl zero, prince allah, Philipp Fraser, Bertam Brown of who he was very close to. Bertam heard him in a record shop he was working for and made him sing his first single in 1978 :Son be careful. He went on doing a few singles for him and for Michael Chin and Clement Hailey, 1979, 1980. Mountain top was recorded in 1982. Faith remained unreleased till 2000. the song africans unite 1981 for delroy mackoy.
Today Sylvan White still can be found in the Greenwitch town community, working witrh church of music label and doing a little farming..
