review of a twinkle brothers album

anyone has The LP of the Twinkle Brothers's album called "Breaking down the bariers" 1987 ? what kind of vibes it is ? roots ? digital ?....

It's digital. Has some really tuff tunes as the title track and Urban Babylon. But I don't think it's such a good album all the way through.

a friend told me about digital. but he couldn`t explain it. so, do you know what kind of music it is? can you explain it to me? thx

i only hear a sample one day, and it was similar to "funky reggae" but as i said i only heard one song (breaking down the bariers).

DJredoo; Well, I don't know how you mean. But with digital people tend to mean that some, most or all instruments are digital instruments. Ie instead of a drum you might have a drum-machine. Instead of a bass you might have a synthesizer bass. These digital instruments had a whole different sound in those days and thus the sound of digital roots was very different from people playing on live instruments.

yes agree with kalcidis, but when i heard this sample according to me it was not really a digital reggae, it sounds very funky and not with live instuments like third world.

it was like funky reggae with digitals instruments as kalcidis says. but it was on the only sample that i heard, i can't speak about the others 9 tracks, that's why i wanted to have a full review of the album may be the others tracks are not as funky as the first one (01- breaking down the bariers)
