Haiti has produced some very interesting music in the 70's. It has the same qualities as reggae, but it's a completely different rhythm. They call it "Compas". It's more a mix betwee funk, african soukous and latin.

The best records I know:
- Tabou Combo "Respect"
- Tabou Combo New York City
- Tabou Combo "A la Cannes a Sucre"
- Many records of Le Shleu Shleu
- Les Gypsies de Petion Ville (album with no name)
