I have a CD with the above title which has totally different songs from this same titled release: http://www.roots-archives.com/release/949
it has a purple cover with a pic of Yabby and someone else (Scientist?) and purports to be on Yabby U Records but is published by Graylan, which according to the artist at this link: http://www.waterhouserock.com/subpage1.html (gotten from a 2005 post)
is issuing un-licensed material (I'm assuming that's why it isn't on the archives) is this from the same sessions and how come Yabby U doesn't just issue it himself (it really rocks!) and also, how come I was able to buy it from Ernie B's, the vagaries of European copyright laws non-withstanding. Does anyone know of any other titles by this company so I can avoid them, anyone have any info?

Yabby you did issue the LP you mention, himself, a vinyl LP release on his own vivian jackson/prophet records label. It does have some very wicked dub mixes!! aDam

with these songs ? most aren't dubs:
1. Michael Prophet - Free Up Your Heart + Dub
2. Michael Prophet - Give Me Your Loving
3. Michael Prophet - Know The Right
4. Fight It To The Top Dub
5. Michael Prophet - No Friends In This Time
7. No Friends In This Time Dub
8. Patrick Andy - Every Tongue Shall Tell
9. Wayne Wade - There Must Be A Way

I couldn't find it on the archives, although I do recal seeing an LP with a similar cover

The track listing on the vinyl is like the same as the archive says (riot in birmingham, sufferation & starvation, mass execution in angola...etc.)but, I have listened to the dub tracks again to try to identify the vocal tunes they go to, and here is what I found..
side A
1-The gates of zion (aka free up your heart-right?)(12" Extended vocal/dub version)
2-MAn of experience (dub)
3-Know the right (Dub)
4-Roots man time (Dub)
5-step right in (Dub)
B side
6-Friend in this time (Dub)
7-?
8-?
9-?
10-PAtrick Andy-Every tongue shall tell (Vocal version)

Funny how its very similar to your cD-probably just is the pirated version of this same LP.

yabby yous catalogue is a total mess and this is just one example. he needs someone to straighten it out and reissue his classics. blood and fire did a good job for a start.

one love

It would seem that these are Scientist Dub Mixes.

I think it's mostly Jammys mixes. This album exist in 2 versions with some tracks replaced. Here are the actual tunes on the Graylan issue :

1. gates of zion (m. prophet)
2. gates of zion dub (m. prophet)
3. man of experience dub (m. prophet)
4. know the right dub (m. prophet)
5. roots man time dub (m. prophet)

1. fight it to the top dub (m. prophet)
2. no friend in this time dub (m. prophet)
3. unknown
4. every tongue shall tell (patrick andy)
5. jah know it's true (alric forbes)
