Greetings!
Can someone please tell me what the Mighty Diamonds version to the track on Trinity Meets The Mighty Diamonds - God Flea? It sounds like a wicked one! The first Mighty Diamonds lyrics you hear are "Let the answer.. be Yesss!".

Praises,
Jah Chicken

Awesome track, there are a few other killer tunes on that Planet Earth album, despite its attempt at a crossover sound I really like the album. “Sweet Lady” is such a beautiful love song.

Diamonds album recorded in Bahamas. After the New Orleans recording (Ice On Fire, produced by Toussaint), this was an additional attempt to seduce mainstream radio etc. Works OK, but not their best effort for sure.

I find the DJ version of the album very weak; The cover is cool, but that's it. The recorded music is not well suited for toasting IMP

Never heard the Trinity cut, but I discovered the dub album - Planet Mars Dub - way before I ever tracked down the vocal LP. It's certainly very "light" compared to most conventional dubs, but there's something about it that makes it work...maybe because it parallels the airy, tuneful vocal style of the Diamonds. In the same league as Dennis Bovell's Strictly Dubwize and his 4th Street Orchestra stuff.

Just listened to the Trinity album. I agree with Vlad - not a great match. Sounds like the backing tracks may be a different (heavier) mix from the Planet Mars set?

I remember Steve Barrow saying once that B&F had been considering releasing the Trinity LP.

I quite like the Trinity album, so I thought I'd stick up for it here. It is an unusual pairing, but I think it works.

Plus, it contains one of the only reggae tracks I have ever heard concerting the virtues of LSD....

true, but more true, imo, Trinity wasn't the man for this job. get a cool & deadly specialist like General Echo and the outcome might well be spectacular.

'course as subsequent dance hall developments have proven, a capable DJ can do his thing to a wide variety of music. but back in '78 (RA says 79), other than Echo, who else?

again, imo:

I Roy
Briggy
Jah Thomas
Big Youth (with the right producer)
