Anyone know what this song is called, if it was released?
Or at least what the riddim is?
(the song at the beginning)

Not sure of the name of the song or the riddim, but Barrington Levy sings Robber Man over it as well.
What video is that? I'd love to pick that one up.

Thanks! I do not know that Barrington Levy tune, its very nice. According to algoriddim that is the original on the riddim.
There is something very special about the Josey Wales cut, the drum and bass and his voice create the perfect melancholy vibe. "very very bad case in blues" indeed.
Im sorry I have no idea what the video is, the credits at the end say "An Omega Production 1986" if that helps at all

I had asked about it years ago, apparently it's a never released cut.

hi there,
don't know if you are still searching. but I found it. was looking for it too. it's a piece of the song "I've got 2 find my baby"
I thought, I reply anyway eventhough this thread ends in 2010...

Wow!! Thank you so much for the reply! I have come across many other people searching for this tune on here and on youtube, but you are the first to know the tune! It must be pretty rare.
The only instance of the song that I can find on the internet is at about 40 minutes into this Volcano Sound system tape:
http://www.whocorkthedance.com/volcano.html
Volcano – 3 Piece Lawn, Naggo Head, Portmore, St Catherine, 9th September 1983
Its not on the Robberman riddim unfortunately. The lyrics fit that riddim so well in the youtube vid. Still its pretty cool to hear the whole thing even if it is over a differnt riddim!
Again, many many thanks for your reply!
How did you know about the song by the way? Do you have any release with it on? Have you heard it on the robberman riddim or on the riddim that is on the Volcano tape?

Danny Dread uses the lyrics on his »Humane Mechanic«. It's not on the same rhythm though (put instead on the wonderful Shank-I-Sheck -- not the most melancholic rhythm though).
