looking for help with an old song

hi everyone 
im looking for an old tune that i dont know the title of,im really hoping that someone on here remembers it. it was a late 70`s song and the lyrics go like this.....
"in this time of war and crime......i cant find no peace of mind...in time.......time is on my mind....................people are trying to keep me down, yes they try there best to push me around........but with faith and determination.....im gonna reach my destination.....in time."
i have no clue who the artist is either.
thats all i can remember im afraid, i had the song on tape but sadly the ravages of time have caught up with it and is now lost to the vocal gods in my head lol. i really hope it rings a bell in your lyrical head.
