Ask me what my favourite modern reggae artist at this moment is and I wont need much time to think about an answer: Tarrus Riley. Excellent artist, on record and on stage. At home on both roots and dance hall riddims and lyrically strong and original. Wicked vocal-lines, flow and great voice, true musical talent. To show my appreciation for the man's work I made a mix, which soon became a double-episode clocking in close to 80 mins, with my favourite Tarrus tracks, sometimes in combination with one or at most two other tracks on the same riddim to keep the focus on the repertoire of mister Tarrus Riley. Mix is in the usual BMC style; no full tracks, one continuous mix with added soundsamples: promotional style! Here's the tracklist with sources of each tune and the download link is given below. I love the easy beat of slow reggae. My favourite is "She's Royal." Tarrus Riley is playing Saint Lucia Jazz this May 4th to 8th. We will try to get back there and stay at l'Anse Chastanet, my favourite place on the beach.
Amazing art, amazing food, amazing weather, amazing music--Saint Lucia is one of those places you have to go to before you die.
