List your thoughts, favorite tracks from the Cool Ruler passed the "analogue" era (70's > 1985/6/7).
A few from me:
> I consider "Gregory Isaacs - Watchman Of The City" to kick-off Gregory's digital era; "Miss You" is wicked track. Great LP IMO
> Of course, Gussie produced "Rumors" is a masterpiece
> Highly recommended: Kingston 14 on "tempo" riddim; Check it on You Tube.
> "Pardon Me" LP, trying to "return" to USA charts is extremely crisply produced, and, in fact, not digital.
> I haven't heard any real good stuff from GI in last years. You?

Sorry, I was thinking of Dennis Brown (it was late when I posted).
On the subject of Gregory Isaacs - has anyone heard the story that 'Night Nurse' is actually a song about his (then) addiction to cough syrup?

you can't get addicted to cough syrup. Its like LSD you will hallucinate and freak-out very wild and uncontrolled when you drink half the bottle.
Night nurse refers to coke, or the derivate crack which he used a lot.

'Night Nurse' is actually a brand of cough syrup. If you drink a whole bottle of it, it really messes you up. It contains opiates.

i love night nurse- the cough syrup. I've drunk loads but not addictive. I believe gregory was known to have a serious lockets habit, draining out the fluid from the middle and smoking it. Nuf tunes about "locketing" as they call it. As for digi's try:
over the bridge(killer from lets go dancing lp)
quiet storm (12" two friends)
dancing time(12" live and love)
only you(12" sunset)
report to me(12" greensleeves)
anyone else heard the rumours about dennis brown and sudofed?
