Someone knows what this is all about? I spotted this at the reggaerecords.com site. A Merritone compilation and/or merritone reissue singles? Or is it a Hopeton Lewis set?

It will be released in December 2010.

I hadn't heard about this--can't wait!!

That would be killer if the "Take it Easy" LP is one of the releases. I'd be pretty happy with a 7" of "Cool Collie" as well.

That would be great! As far as I know there are no proper Hopeton Lewis reissues out.

Cool Cool Collie is one of the biggest Rock Steady cuts ever done in my opinion.

Other Merritone reissues would be nice too. I personally would be very happy to get The Minstrels "So Weary" on vinyl.

Merritone is mostly Lynn Taitt productions/arrangements, isn't it?

Paul Khouri (Federal) in Miami did put out a reissue CD of the Hopeton Lewis Merritone LP that sounds great. Unfortunately he didn't use the original cover art and did not include all of the other great H.L. tunes that were not on the LP. However the sound is crisp from master tape.

Hopeton Lewis "Take It Easy" has been reissued on CD for sure on K & K Records. The CD matrix is PKL-022096. I have this myself and the sound quality is very good.

Some of the stuff is very jazzy-loungy but many are essential reissues for the followers on Jamaica's 60s musical styles ( even if it's not what this Forum is about.... cronologically or stylistically! )
