Transfer: TDK SA 90 Cassette > Nakamichi CR-1A (AzAdj) > DAT > CDR > FreeRIP > Bulk Rename Utility > TLH > Torrent
01. Sun Shines For Me
02. Slave Master
03. Mr. Cop
04. John Public
05. Soon Forward (w/ DJ)
06. Mr. Brown > Storm
07. Number One (w/ DJ)
I received this in trade back in the late 80s with little info, just the year. There is noticible hiss on this
FM-sourced cassette but the music makes it worth it.
seeded by pdub2000 in 2010
some additional notes i had with my old cassette (which was marked August 1979) as of 11-1-2010
Time Line of Songs Released played at this show
01. Sun Shines For Me > 7" Single 1975
02. Slave Master > 7" Single 1977
03. Mr. Cop > 7" Single 1976
04. John Public > vinyl LP Cool Ruler 1978 (backing band by the Revolutionaries)
05. Soon Forward > vinyl LP Soon Forward 1979 the song Soon Forward was produced with Sly & Robbie
06a. Mr. Brown > 7" Single 1979
06b. Storm > vinyl LP Mr. Isaacs 1978 (backing band by the Heptones & Revolutionaries)
07. Number One > vinyl LP Best of Vol.#1 1977 (rythem backing band by the Revolutionaries)
In 1979 after the Soon Forward LP Gregory Isaacs played in small clubs from
around March through August 1979 before the Roots Radical Band had officially joined him. I believe this show to be in August of 1979. Gregory Isaacs was known to be in the east coast area at this time
This setlist also is similiar to another show that circulates in 1979
This is who performed on the Soon Forward LP
a great line-up,
Next to Sly and Robbie Leroy Wallace, Santa,Leroy Sibbles, Bo Peep, Bingy Bunny, Sticky and Skully, Gladstone Anderson,Winston Wright, Ansil Collins, Nambo, Bobby Ellis, Deadly Headly,Earl 'Wire' Lindo, Junior Delgado and Dennis Brown
Possible Band Members for this tour
Bass - Errol "Flabba" Holt
Guitar - Dwight Pickney
Guitar - Eric "Bingy Bunny" Lamont
Drums - Lincoln "Style" Scott or "Santa" Davis
Keyboards - ?
Also any of the musicians from the Soon Come LP could of been on the mini tour
When the albums Lonely Lover (1980) and its follow-up More Gregory (1981) came out both albums were backed by the Roots Radical band, with whom Gregory Isaacs toured the UK in 1980-1981.
Hoping someone can shed more light someday on this recording.
